History

Formerly known as the Mother Huckers, our team decided to change our name to Cypress in the fall of 2019.  This name change allowed Cypress to continue to be recognized by USAU and marked a shift in our culture! (In the same year, William & Mary's men's team also changed their name, from Darkhorse to the Merry Men.)

Cypress qualified for their first College Nationals in 2022. The team came into regionals seeded 6th, but fought their way through the 3rd place bracket to beat North Carolina State in the game-to-go.  Although they were labeled the "clear bottom seed" at Nationals, Cypress proved that they were a true team to be contended with, and ultimately, finished 15th in the nation!

In 2024 and 2025, Cypress won Virginia Conferences (lovingly, "Sectionals").
